A little background...
 
We've realized that we're getting old ... well, if we're not, at least some of our early releases sure are! Next year will be Varèse Sarabande's 35th(!!) anniversary. That means that it's possible that certain titles of ours have been out of print for over two decades! I think it's time to reintroduce a few of these oldies but goodies. As just part of our new CD Club announcement, we will launch the "Varèse Encore" series of long out-of-print titles - newly re-mastered and with updated packaging. These will not be "Deluxe Editions" where we add music to the original track selection. The contents of the "Varèse Encore" CDs will be the same as the original releases, but newly available to a generation (or two) who have never had an opportunity to buy certain titles from any place other than Ebay.

So excited to be presenting the second performance of ALIEN: A BIOMECHANICAL SYMPHONY, a concert piece originally created for the Fimucité Festival in Tenerife, where we premiered the work in 2009. The music of Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Elliot Goldenthal, John Frizzell and Brian Tyler will be performed by Sinfonietta Cracovia, Pro Musica Mundi Choir and Pueri Cantores Sancti Nicolai Boys’ Choir, all under the direction of conductor Diego Navarro. For this special performance we will feature a greatly expanded ALIEN 3 section, with cues selected by Elliot Goldenthal himself. The second half of the concert will be an all-Goldenthal program "Elliot Goldenthal's Cinema of Art and Blood", featuring extended suites from TITUS ANDRONICUS, FRIDA and INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE. Don't miss this thrilling closing night celebration of Krakow's FMF festival on Saturday, May 26, 2012! Friday, May 25 will feature a historic 80th birthday celebration concert honoring the great Polish composer Wojciech Kilar! Both Goldenthal and Kilar will be in attendance at their concerts. The American Express Symphony At The Park concerts are two uniquely themed symphonic performances commemorating and charting the history of the legendary Abbey Road Studios in the majestic grounds of West London's Chiswick House and Gardens on 20th and 21st August 2011.

August 21 presents a celebration of Abbey Road Studio's illustrious film music history, produced by Abbey Road's Jonathan Allen and Varèse Sarabande's Robert Townson, featuring Joel McNeely conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Crouch End Festival Chorus. The extraordinary program will include music by John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Alex North, Howard Shore, George Fenton, Gabriel Yared, Philippe Sarde, James Horner, Joel McNeely and more!

Gates to the performance grounds open at 5:30 pm, from when you are invited to settle down on the spacious lawns in front of the main performance stage. The concert starts at 7:15 pm with an introduction to the concert program and history of the studios before the 80 piece orchestra start the main performance. There is an interval at 8:30 pm and the concert is due to conclude by 10:00 pm.
